My name is Shiran, an artist and ceramicist working in my studio in Haifa, "Alef" – a space where material is a language and creation is an ongoing dialogue. I began my journey in the world of sculpture, and from there I moved into ceramics – to the meeting point between art and utility, between idea and form that seeks a place in everyday life.
Working with clay for me is a process of inquiry and attentiveness. I approach each creation as a new conversation with the material – testing, balancing, allowing it to dictate the pace and the form. This is how the vessels are born – bowls, mugs, plates, and other objects – each carrying within it the mark of the hand, the beautiful imperfection that distinguishes one piece from another.
Alongside my ongoing work on vessels, I open the studio as a place for creative encounters and learning. The space allows participants to experience ceramics, to get to know the material closely, and create on their own – an experience that connects doing, inquiry, and pleasure in the material.
